This fantastic acrobat, achieving death-defying gator-balance, was sketched by Mika J. Nakano and taken to final by Kathleen Marcotte!

Kathleen Tomiko Marcotte was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in the nearby suburbs of Elmhurst, IL. After a childhood of constant doodling, she moved out to Baltimore to study illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). My Giant Pony

Mika J. Nakano created this candy-colored pony based on a sketch by Rachel Dougherty for a final that's pretty much every little girl's dream.

Mika is currently studying at Maryland Institute College of Art to receive a BFA degree in Illustration (’11) and Masters in Art Education (’12). Her dream is to teach early elementary while writing and illustrating her own children’s books.Her favorite things to draw are animals with multiple legs and sharp teeth. Especially alligators. Anna Bongiovanni is a cartoonist, illustrator, and a pretty swell person. Originally from Fairbanks Alaska, Anna studied comic art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She now has a BFA and puts it to use everyday as a freelance artist/hooligan. She enjoys lattes, making fancy soups, shelving library books, creating messes, and worrying.
