BEARD

"It's a girl my lord, in a flatbed ford, slowin down to take a look at me." (minus the girl + extra beard) This week Paul Windle took on Rachel Dougherty's sketch for this beard-licious final.

Ella Ella Ay Ay

Even though Becca Stadtlander unfortunately had to bow out on the final process this week, she did provide us with this gorgeous sketch (can we even call this a sketch? it's a painting in its own right!) of a charming patriot lady, which we were honored to have Mary Kate McDevitt join us again to finish! Beautiful work, ladies!

Mary Kate McDevitt

Becca Stadtlander was born and raised in Covington, Ky. Becca's childhood was spent rearranging the furniture, fascinated by ballpoint pens and cluttered antiques. She's a fellow MICA alum and an illustration powerhouse. Check out her website, blog, and shop.

Colonial Portrait

I feel like I don't need to be all witty and clever for the description of this piece, it just kind of speaks for itself. Erica Sirotich is responsible for this amazingly ridiculous sketch, and you can thank me (Alyssa) for bringing it to life!

Sam the Eagle

Here at headquarters we're super stoked to have Erica Sirotich back in the mix, if you don't remember - she helped pioneer this project with us as one of the first regular contributing illustrators. This week she took on Cody's sketch to create this super adorable american eagle badge thing! Hurray America! Also all eagle drawings remind me of the muppets - if you didn't catch that reference in the post title.

Angsty Shirtless Sailor: An American Portrait

It occasionally happens that one our contributors gets too busy to take their piece to final, this happened to be the case for Becca who had some last minute client work to tend to. That being said - I present to you my sketch as completed by me. I guess it's pretty much my dream man, everyone knows i'm into the surly sailor types, right? Enjoy!

Super BBQ

Rachel Dougherty had the challenge of coloring Mary Kate McDevitt's BBQ vision - and you've gotta love that quadruple decker grill, that's some serious meat cookage. See the original sketch below.

This American Life

This week Paul Windle put a clever twist on the Americana theme and whipped up this portrait of 'This American Life' host Ira Glass. Cody Griffith went to final on Paul's sketch for this fantastic final!
