Carlos Patino was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia and raised in Bogota. Upon graduating high school he entered design school at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia to study industrial design. After his first year at school he moved to the U S of A to keep studying industrial design but this time at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There he studied for 2 years, only to move again this time to New Zealand. Here he finished his industrial design degree at Victoria University in Wellington.
Carlos still lives in Wellington and is working as a multimedia designer for a well-known baby stroller company while keeping busy with illustrations, freelance work, and painting.
