The Fat Lady is Singin'

Hey, look - Harry's got a Weasley sweater too!

Another character who's under appreciated in the fan art world is Mrs. Weasley - although I feel like she's probably the most loved mom in literature. Both Danny Brito and Rachel Dougherty do Mrs. W justice in this loving portrait. Sketch By Rachel, final piece by Mr. Danny Brito!

Honeydukes

The only thing sweeter than the candy at Honeyduke's is this collaboration between Katie Turner and Francesca Buchko! Katie did an excellent job capturing the atmosphere, and fun of Honeyduke's as the gang shops for chocolate frogs, fizzing whizbees, and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans! The Grim, my dear, the Grim!

I happen to feel that Professor Trelawney is an extremely underrated character - not only did she totally creep Harry out when she predicted Wormtail's return, she's also the one who spoke the prophecy setting the entire plot of Harry Potter into action - she's also really badass and kills death eaters by throwing crystal balls at them in the last book. Basically she's the coolest, and now thanks to Jared Schorr she will be forever remembered in paper cut form! Sketch by Alyssa Nassner!

Uncle Hagrid's Cabin

Holy Cannoli! This week Francesca Buchko brought out the big guns (aka water color set) to dazzle us with this amazing final rendition of Trevor's adorable portrait of Hagrid and Fang.

George," said Fred, "I think we've outgrown a full-time education."

I'm not going to lie, I totally have a crush on all the Weasley's in the Harry Potter books (yes even / especially Ginny, but maybe not Percy) and this week's swap afforded me the opportunity to do portraits of my two favorites: Fred and George. The sketch was done by new contributor Jared Schorr, and the final was completed by Alyssa Nassner.

You don't even have to say "Luminos Maxima" to turn me on!

Harry is totally the lady-killer, what with his constant moody attitude and complaining about Voldemort - no wonder the girls flock to him! Rachel Dougherty took on Danny Brito's sketch this week for this (I think) well fitting portrait of Harry Potter.

Shield of Godric Gryffendor

Professor Godric Gryffindor was a wizard of medieval times and one of the four Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts had a redesign the shield contest as part of their 2011 rebranding and this was the winner! Sketch by Jordan sondler, and final by Carlos Patino.

Herbology Exam

Although Herbology was always Neville's favorite class (excuse me, I guess it's Professor Longbottom now) the rest of Hogwarts had to attend Professor Sprout's classes as well. Here's the famous trio with a bouquet of flowers, or who knows maybe they're harvesting some Dittany, Gillyweed, or Grudyroot. The boy who lived - to be a middle-aged man

This week we had a ton of great artwork / artists. To start off the slew of Harry Potter inspired art here is the work of two previous collaborators Jordan Sondler, and Carlos Patino. The final piece was completed by Jordan, and Carlos's sketch can be seen below! I can only assume this is what the aged HP looks like at the end of the Deathly Hallows - or maybe it's some sort of creepy middle-aged fan boy - either way he has a multi faceted nose, and is alright in my book.
