Master Copy Inspiration: Kara Walker

This week at Ten Paces and Draw we'll be doing illustrated master copies! We've gathered a bunch of illustrators to put their own spin on a famous work of art. I can't think of a better place to start as inspiration than this 2007 New Yorker cover by Kara Walker. It's her interpretation of Gericault's Raft of the Medusa, applied to comment on Hurricane Katrina. She titled the piece Post Katrina, Adrift. Check out the Gericault below.
